Driving directions from San Diego: Cross the border and stay to the right. Follow the sign marked "Rosarito Ensenada Scenic Road." This is a toll highway and costs $2-3 at the tollbooth. La Paloma is approximately 30 minutes south of the tollbooth. To avoid the city traffic, take the fifth Rosarito exit just before the second tollbooth. La Paloma is on the right. If you reach the next tollbooth, you have gone too far.

Note: Most car rental companies do not allow their cars to be taken across the border. Consult a travel agent or a phone directory for companies that do. Be sure to obtain a valid insurance policy issued by a licensed Mexican insurance company. This can be obtained at "quick stops" along the highway before entering Mexico.
